How to Balance Social & Academic Life

Throughout the school year, you might’ve dealt with a hefty courseload. Yet, you still want to have fun while maintaining those good grades. I’ve had the same issue, so you’re not entirely alone. So, here’s how to balance your social and academic life, to ensure you can have a good time while staying on top of your studies!

  1. Get started on your work early. Don’t procrastinate.
  • I think this is a given, but trust me. If you want to have fun sometimes on the weekend, you have to allow yourself time to do it. Therefore, you have to finish and keep on top of your work before you can hang out. You don’t want to go to a party, and then go back home panicking about your math test the next day, or homework due at 11:59 PM. Study and get it done beforehand.

       2. Make friends with people and teachers in your classes.

  • Not only are you socializing and forming good bonds with people, you are also allowing yourself to thrive. You could always talk to these people and form friendships, and as a bonus, ask them for help. Establishing these connections are good, because in the end, they’re all human, like you. You can have fun while being productive, killing two birds with one stone by doing so.

      3. Take breaks and discover.

  • I tend to notice that discovering fun things to do, such as having fun with friends will relieve stress caused by school. And that stress caused from school causes a never ending cycle of doing poorly. By discovering new things to do and relaxing, you are replenishing your mind, allowing you to do your best academically while still being socially aware.

I hope these tips help you balance your social and academic life!
