Pros & Cons of The Grading System
Pros:
Many students use good grades as an incentive to upkeep their workload and concentrate on areas to improve.
It’s a simple system that helps educators, students, and parents track their progress.
Cons:
The grading system is biased; some teachers are more strict than others, and one’s B could easily be an A. A simple notion like this could easily induce stress among teens’, doing more harm than good.
Grading is often tied: to one’s self-worth; academic performance is what reflects many. Thereshould be alternative forms for educators todetermine whether students properly retain the knowledge, through hands-on activities. Ensuring students focus on memorizing the information, rather than how they think they will perform on a future exam should be a priority.
