The Importance Of Drinking Enough Water
It can be hard especially during the winter to make sure you’re consuming the right amount of water. During the summer, it’s easier because of how dehydrated a person begins to feel, but there are still problems like so many more sugary drinks also being available which stop a person from drinking pure water instead. And sometimes when being surrounded by all these better options, it’s easy to forget why we really need to drink water; so here are a few reasons why you have to drink your daily recommended amount :
1; Not drinking enough water has terrible effects on the human body.
In the human body water is a crucial function about 60% of the male body is filled with just water and 55% of the female body is filled with water. Without the right amount of water for the human body people may be affected by the following symptoms. Fatigue, headache, weakened immunity, and extremely dry skin. According to healthcare associates of Texas not drinking enough water can cause several negative effects to you. “Not drinking enough water can cause an overall fluid loss in the body. This fluid loss can lead to a decrease in blood volume that puts excess pressure on the heart to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the organs” To try to make sure this doesn’t happen to you, try drinking around 2.7 liters of water per day.
2. A reduced amount of water causes many mental complications.
Water is crucial not only to the human body but also to the human brain. Many essential functions of the brain are possible through the nutrients carried in water. A decreased supply of water in the body leads to many mental issues. A small list includes mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and insecurities caused by narcissism. In the “Lower risk of anxiety and depression” section of the Healthline article on “Dehydration and Anxiety: How to Keep Calm and Hydrate On” it states, “In one 2018 study of over 3,000 adults, those who drank more water had a lower risk of anxiety and depression than those who drank less water. Though the connection between dehydration and depression was stronger, researchers found that anxiety was higher in those who didn’t drink enough water.” This supports my claim that a decreased supply of water causes mental disorders in the body.
3. Water protects your body’s organs and tissues
Water protects organs in your body such as the spinal cord and joints. According to EverydayHealths’ report on “7 Health Benefits of Water Backed by Scientific Research,” the document cites that “Water does more than just quench your thirst and regulate your body’s temperature; it keeps the tissues in your body moist…” In other words, the tissues in our body being moist allows for easier movement of the joints in the body. Another website that backs this claim is Mayo Clinic Health System. In the article “Water: Essential for your body” it quotes, “Protects body organs and tissues.” This shows evidence of my claim that water protects your body organs and tissues.
All in all my 3 reasons why water is critical to the body are that it protects the body’s organs and tissues. It helps reduce the chance of mental disorders such as anxiety and depression. And most importantly it has terrible effects on the human body. That is why water is an important factor in the human body.
