Tone Tags

Have you ever read a text and you couldn’t tell whether it was meant to be sarcastic or genuine; This is where tone tags would come into play and stop this confusion.

Tone tags are typically used towards neurodivergent people, but they could be used at any time. Using tone tags is easy, all you have to do is add the tone at the end of the sentence.

Example: I’m so sorry for your loss. /gen

The hardest part about tone tags is the wide range of abbreviations, but I attached an image of the commonly used ones, so it can narrow it down. It took me a while to memorize most of them, but they’re worth including in conversations with friends if you struggle to figure out tones!
