College Orientation

Many college orientations are mandatory, but even if it isn’t, you should go. Orientations typically include a lot of information that would be helpful and make your school year easier. Different colleges include different objectives and thus may vary depending on the college you choose.

• There will be a campus tour, and if you’re like me and you forgot the layout from the first tour, this is a must.
• There will be plenty of presentations discussing the campus’ policies, amenities, and protocols.
• You’ll also take an ID photo that will help you navigate through the campus.
• They will also go through the financial aid process and discuss all the various types.
• You also may be required to take a placement test to determine what level would be best for you.
• You can introduce yourself to your professors, you never know, you may use them for your recommendation letter to graduate school or your dream career.
• Your academic advisor will help you choose your classes, so they align with your major or general education.
• Orientation is an opportunity to make friends, everyone is new and eager to make friends.
