Award Shows

Have you ever noticed the hype for the Grammys isn’t there anymore? Grammys in 2012 used to have nearly 40 million viewers. 3 years ago it was at 18.7 million and a little over a year ago they only managed 9 million watchers. This doesn’t only apply to Grammys, but any award show is having a similar drop. This decline is mainly due to a lack of attention from younger audiences. Many just don’t find award shows worth it and prefer to find the results online. Teens are used to short videos on reels or TikTok and the time-span to sit through it isn’t there. There have been talks about adjusting it to accommodate the younger generations, but nothing is confirmed as of now.
