Long Island
As opposed to many of you guys who live in New York City, I live in Long Island and plan on living here into adulthood. There are great, expensive areas in Long Island like the popular Hamptons and Garden City. The con over here is that it’s expensive, even a small home could actually be worth much more than you anticipate as Long Island is one of the most expensive places to live. Especially since the education system is very good with the 5th high school in the country so supply and demand for people wanting their children to attend makes it pricy. They’re constantly building old/abandoned platforms in Long Island to increase the value of the area. It’s very difficult for younger generations to afford living here because of how financially secure you need to be to keep up with the maintenance and mortgage expenses but if you maintain good credit you could be eligible to be part of the islanders!
