Pros & Cons of Influencers

Many people want the influencer lifestyle filled with wealth and liberty, but how common is that?

The pros of an influencer are that when they’re very successful they could make a lot of money, especially from promotions and advertising of other brands. The work-life balance is great because they have more freedom to do their own thing which improves their independence. This helps them thrive in the social media world. They’re able to work at home and get more done.

However, the cons are much more scarier than one would think. Many influencers skip or drop out of college when their following starts growing, so they have to completely rely on their account. There’s no job security, so if you are not being shown in the algorithms as much as you used to if you get banned then the engagement is gone. Your income will start to descend and you might not be able to afford your lifestyle anymore. Influencers are a great side gig, but using it long-term is not efficient as new generations might not find your content interesting as you’ll be much older depending on how long you plan to use it. You’ll be criticized a lot more as an influencer than in corporate because they’re not afraid to type it in comparison to someone saying it in your face.
