Best Resources for Research Papers

Writing research papers can be rough when you don’t know where to start. Regardless of the course or teacher, one main requirement typically stays the same: using credible sources. Finding valid sources is not easy; you have to take into consideration the topic, publisher, publication date, and more. But don’t fear; I’ve gathered a few of my favorite websites that I’d love to share with you for your next paper.

1. ProQuest

ProQuest is a digital library offering an abundance of resources. This is my absolute favorite one; it is so easy to use and filter for whatever your topic may be. From newspapers to magazines to scholarly journals, they cover a wide spectrum of subjects. Its advanced search features make it straightforward for deep diving.

2. Google Scholar

If ProQuest wasn’t up your alley, Google Scholar may be. However, this is not to be confused with your typical Google website. While they’re both free search engines, Scholar provides a vast database of scholarly articles, theses, books, and papers. It’s an excellent starting point for any research project.

3. JSTOR

Finally, JSTOR, or Journal Storage, is yet another great digital library with access to academic journals, books, and primary source materials. What sets JSTOR apart is its focus on preserving and providing access to historical collections. It’s an excellent resource for delving into the archives to find seminal works and historical perspectives on your research topic.

However, you must remember that the majority of these listed sites require access to your educational institution. Make sure to ask your teacher for a login to access much more articles before searching. If a login isn’t available, there are always other options, like local libraries and TEDTalks via YouTube.
