DESCRIPTION:One of the essential but sometimes overlooked components of civic education is providing students with opportunities to develop the knowledge\, skills\, and dispositions to assume the role of citizen. We the People has been proven effective civic education programs by independent studies. We the People is available on three levels for upper elementary\, middle school\, and high school.  The workshop will familiarize teachers with the components and process utilized by the program and provide the information necessary to implement it effectively in the classroom. It will also prepare teachers to enter their classes in the optional We the People competition/showcase should they choose to do so. A free copy of the We the People book will be provided to participants.

DESCRIPTION:The Harvard Crimson’s CJS is a two-day hybrid event for high school reporters of all experience levels. Participants will engage in workshops\, simulations\, and seminars led by Crimson Editors and Executives across our content boards. Besides learning from experienced college journalists\, students will also have the chance to interact with professional journalists—namely\, notable Crimson Alumni from top publications such as the New York Times\, Wall Street Journal\, Washington Post\, and more. \n\n\n\nBy working with our editors as well as fellow attendees\, participants will improve their reporting skills\, further their interest in journalism\, and develop new ideas that they can then implement into their own newspapers. Central to our spring conference is growth; no matter their experience level\, journalists will strengthen and advance the reporting and writing skills necessary to effectively run a newspaper!
