It is open to any teen\, anywhere\, for work published or broadcast in English in the previous calendar year. \n\n\n\n“We’re delighted that in addition to producing stellar journalism by teens\, YJI is also able to recognize excellent work from all teen journalism programs and celebrate it worldwide\,” said Steve Collins\, board president at Youth Journalism International. \n\n\n\nWinners of the top categories – Student Journalist of the Year\, Journalism Educator of the Year\, the Frank Keegan Award for News\, the Jacinta Marie Bunnell Award for Commentary\, Courage in Journalism and the First Amendment Award\, receive a beautiful crystal trophy. For questions or assistance with registering\, please contact the competition coordinator. \n\n\n\nThis year’s contest will be held in-person in Berkner Hall (Building 488) at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Friday\, March 14\, 2025 from 8:45 a.m.–4:00.p.m. If you cannot attend the contest\, a video of the bridge testing will be available on the Brookhaven Lab YouTube channel a few weeks after the contest.
