Get Interested In Art
Art is subjective. It has many forms, but not really any rules. Art is the act of conveying a message, a theme, an expression, a feeling, or whatever else you want through a visual form. Practicing an art has many benefits while no downsides, so theirs no real reason for you to not be practicing one. Here are a few reasons you should start getting interested in art.
- Opens The Creative Side Of Your Brain
Throughout our day, at school or work, we’re given tasks that we have to complete and are rarely actually given the chance to create tasks for ourselves. Our mind isn’t given the freedom that it wants. By taking time out to draw, paint, sculpt, or etc. we let our minds be free. We let it expel whatever in the world it wants onto a blank page. And this gives our brain the freedom to make creative decisions and to get used to creative thinking too. Art doesn’t give any options; it’s open-ended, so the possibilities of what you can do are endless and are completely up to you.
- Allows Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is an important skill to have in this world. It allows you to make the proper decision based on the situation you’re in, whether that be by instinct or deep thinking. Not only does the making of art help develop this skill, but so does the observation/analysis of it. Critical thinking all starts with the idea of finding the best possible way to get a task done, and with this comes two endings; you either get something done as you planned it, or you don’t. Art teaches us that things won’t always go our way. Something like using the wrong materials is enough for something not to go as planned, or even something as simple as one extra stroke is enough for your piece not to come out as planned but that doesn’t mean the piece is messed up, it just didn’t go as planned. And this also causes critical thinking; it allows your brain to choose from deciding between now leaving the piece as is, or deciding to fix it.
- Offers A Lot Of Choices
If you play a sport, you probably know how difficult it is to really become good at it and how much time it takes, and for art this kind of applies, but not really. Art has so many forms; if one doesn’t work; it’s not necessarily easy, but it’s not as difficult to find a new form of art as it would be to find something like a new sport to get into. It’s manageable. And all the different forms, are just options, and with so many options it’s hard not to be able to find at least one that suits you.
- Allows Expression
An empty canvas has the potential to be anything. It can portray your thoughts. Your feelings. Something you saw on t.v. The building is right in front of you. It offers a way for you to express yourself. It’s an outlet made for you to express and release emotion. To channel your stress, anxiety, or happiness constructively. It lets you expel all that you may have been holding back to yourself, onto a canvas.
- Sense Of Accomplishment
Creating a good piece of art can be the highlight of your day. It can be the part that fixes all of it. That puts a smile on your face. That makes you feel that in the end, it’ll be ok. The part that makes you look forward to tomorrow. We all have bad days; so it’s important that we have something that can help get us through them. Art is a way to do that.
In conclusion, art is a beneficial hobby. It offers creativity, critical thinking, expression, and a sense of accomplishment all while providing many options to do this through. Art has so many different forms, it offers so many different ways to express yourself, through so many different materials. It’s a low-maintenance hobby that can build some beneficial skills which can be useful in the future. As wide as a topic as art is, they are many more reasons for someone to have an interest in the topic, but I hope that out of the few I’ve mentioned, at least one has been able to stick with you and will cause you to look further into the topic.
Fine i’ll try drawing again🥲
Love this! Though I’m not an art person, I’d love to try one of these!
