Parents Shouldn’t Manage Teens’ Screen Time

Parents shouldn’t restrict screen time because it disrupts the relationship between parents and their kids. Teenagers often put personal information on their phones, which they consider sacred property. If this space or privacy is violated: teens can lose trust in their parents.

Alternatively, it’s wiser for parents to teach their children how to use social media effectively: by discussing the safety aspects of it by watching who can view your content and taking precautions when people you don’t know reaches out. Also, safety from criticism can hurt a teenager’s self-esteem; this can be from their follower count or hate comments. Teenagers should manage their time alone because it lets them know you find them responsible and trustworthy and improves their time management skills.
